The Brazilian Certification Association (Associação NCC Certificações do Brasil) has just granted Devex with the conformity certification for the TRACKER SMT100C. The equipment was developed to protect on board computers utilized in iron ore mines.
`` The equipment´s mechanical part needed an extra protection. We did not want dust, for example, to hinder the productivity of our product. Now, with the TRACKER, there is no external factor capable of affecting the operation of the product´´, explains engineer Daniela Souto, Coordinator of Mechanical Projects and Robustness.
To receive the certification, the TRACKER went through rigorous tests at the University of São Paulo- USP, in São Paulo. A team from Devex was able to follow all the procedures recognized by ABNT, the Brazilian Association of Technical Norms (Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas) and also by Inmetro. The equipment was subjected to real situations, yet more dramatic than those experienced in the mine, such as storms and wind storms that are followed by fine dust generated by the iron ore.
The protection standard IP65, granted by the organization, is recognized worldwide. From now on, Devex can assure its clients that all TRACKERS will be manufactured according to the NCC standards and guaranteed by an engineering report. ´´With the TRACKER certification, we are sure that Smartmine will be protected and no longer exposed to the phenomena of nature´´, concludes Souto.
