Breaking into one of the world’s most important open pit mine is the major’s goal of large companies in the mining sector. And in the moment that Devex reaches its complete maturity, Devex receives from Vale S.A. - world leader in ore production - the task to take over part of the current management system of Carajas Sierra Mine, optimize and contribute to the enlargement of the production.The application of SmartMine from Devex is going to permit that the mining company knows where are, in the immense mining space, in a precise way, the best opportunities and also losses in the production process.
With SmartMine implantation, Vale starts having more security conditions, efficient maintenance and instantaneous decision making on its hands. “In all these 14 years of Devex, we have invested maximum energy in getting experience and knowledge, always based on innovation, flexibility, velocity and high technology. Vale has recognized the level of excellence of our products and services”, explains Guilherme Bastos, Devex’s CEO.
Great plans and responsibilities
In a first moment, around 180 equipments from Devex are going to be installed in Carajas. Bulldozers, graders, tank and train trucks are going to be equipped from the second semester on with GPS and board computers.
This also includes a dispatch central and a control room. The project foresees, until the end of the year , the emplacement of more fifty equipments in Carajas’ mine, and much more expansion in a two-year time. “We are going to offer Vale a customized service, based on our experience and on personalized service. We have plans to set a high level office in Para”, claims Rodrigo Guilherme Couto, responsible one for SmartMine technology sale.
